WHERE did we get Christmas? . .

WHERE did we get Christmas? . . .

from the Scriptures, or paganism?

Here are the astonishing facts which may shock you! Test yourself. How much do you know of the origin of the  tree—Christmas of “Santa Claus”—of the mistletoe—holly wreath—of the custom of exchanging gifts?

WHEN I was a very little boy, I was taught to hang up my stockings on Christmas eve. When I was awakened the next morning, they were filled with small toys and sacks or little boxes of candy and nuts. And beside the mantle, from which my stockings hung, a Christmas tree has suddenly appeared, decorated with shiny tinsel. And on it hung presents. Other presents for us children were piled on the floor underneath. I was told Santa Claus had come down the chimney during the night and left all these things.

But did I question what my parents told me? Of course not. I accepted it—took it all for granted. Didn’t you?

Stop and think a moment! Very few have ever reflected on why they believe what they do—why they follow the customs they do, or from where those customs came. We were born into a world filled with customs. We grew up accepting them without question.

Why? Sheep instinct? Well, not exactly.

But by nature we do tend to follow the crowd, whether right or wrong. Sheep follow others to the slaughter. Humans ought to check up where they are going.

How—when did  Christmas originate?

Does Christmas really celebrate the birthday of Messiah? Was  Yahwah Messiah born on December 25th?

Did the original apostles, who knew  Yahwah Messiah personally and were taught by Him, celebrate His birthday onDecember 25th? Did they celebrate it at all?

If Christmas is the chief of the Christian holidays, why do so many non-Christians observe it? Do you know?

Why do people exchange presents with family members, friends, relatives at Christmas time? Was it because the wise men presented gifts to the Messiah? The answer may surprise you.

Most people have “supposed” a lot of things about Christmas that are not true. But let’s quit “supposing” and get the facts!

What Encyclopedias Say

The word “Christmas ” means “Mass of Christ,” or, as it came to be shortened, “Christ-Mass.” It came to non-Christians and Protestants from the Roman Catholic Church. And where did they get it? NOT from the New Testament—NOT from the Scriptures—NOT from the original apostles who were personally instructed from Christ—but it gravitated in the fourth centuryinto the Roman Church from paganism.

Since the celebration of Christmas has come to us from the Roman Catholic Church, and has no authority but that of the Roman Catholic Church, let us examine the Catholic Encyclopedia, 1911 edition, published by that church. Under the heading “Christmas ,” you will find:

Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church . . . the first evidence of the feast is from Egypt.” “Pagan customs centering around the January calends gravitated to Christmas .”

And in the same encyclopedia, under the heading “Natal Day,” we find that the early Catholic father, Origen, acknowledged this truth: “. . . In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners[like Pharaoh and Herod] who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were born into this world” (emphasis ours).

Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1946 edition, has this: “Christmas (i.e., the Mass of Christ). . . . Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the church. . . .” It was not instituted by Christ or the apostles, or by Bible authority. It was picked up afterward from paganism.

The Encyclopedia Americana, 1944 edition, says: “Christmas . . . . It was, according to many authorities, not celebrated in the first centuries of the Christian church, as the Christian usage in general was to celebrate the death of remarkable persons rather than their birth. . . .” (The “Communion,” which is instituted by New Testament Bible authority, is a memorial of the death of Messiah.) “. . . A feast was established in memory of this event [Messiah's birth] In the fifth century the Western Church ordered it to be celebrated forever on the day of the old Roman feast of the birth of Sol, as no certain knowledge of the day of Messiah’s birth existed.”

Now notice! These recognized historical authorities show Christmas was not observed by Christians for the first two or three hundred years—a period longer than the entire history of the United States as a nation! It got into the Western, or Roman, Church, by the fourth century A.D. It was not until the fifth century that the Roman Church ordered it to be celebrated as an official Christian festival!

Yahwah Messiah was not born Dec. 25th

Yahwah Messiah was not even born in the winter season! When the Messiah was born “there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night,” (LK. 2:8). This could never have occurred in Judaea in the month of December. The shepherds always brought their flocks from the mountainsides and fields and corralled them not later than October 15, to protect them from the cold, rainy season that followed that date. Notice that the Scriptures prove, in Song of Solomon 2:11 and EZRA 10:9, 13, that winter was a rainy season not permitting shepherds to abide in open fields at night.

“It was ancient custom among Jews of those days to send out their sheep to the fields and deserts about the Passover (early spring), and bring them home at commencement of the first rain,” says the Adam Clarke Commentary (Vol. 5, page 370, New York ed.)

Continuing, this authority states: “During the time they were out, the shepherds watched them night and day. As . . . the first rain began early in the month of Marchesvan, which answers to part of our October and November [begins sometime in October], we find that the sheep were kept out in the open country during the whole summer. And, as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks, it is a presumptive argument that October had not yet commenced, and that, consequently, our Lord was not born on the 25th of December, when no flocks were out in the fields; nor could He have been born later than September, as the flocks were still in the fields by night. On this very ground, the nativity in December should be given up. The feeding of the flocks by night in the fields is a chronological fact. . . . See the quotations from the Talmudists in Lightfoot.”

Any encyclopedia, or any other authority, will tell you that Messiah was not born on December 25. The Catholic Encyclopediafrankly states this fact.

The exact date of  Yahwah Messiah’s birth is entirely unknown, as all authorities acknowledge—though if I had space in this booklet I could show you Scriptures which at least strongly indicate that it was in the early fall—probably September—approximately six months after Passover.

If Elohim had wished us to observe and celebrate Messiah’s birthday, He would not have so completely hidden the exact date.

How This Pagan Custom Got into the Church

Then how did this pagan custom creep into the Western Christian world?

The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge explains clearly, in its article on “Christmas “: “How much the date of the festival depended upon the pagan Brumalia (Dec. 25) following the Saturnalia (Dec. 17-24), and celebrating the shortest day in the year and the ‘new sun,’ . . . cannot be accurately determined. The pagan Saturnalia and Brumalia were too deeply entrenched in popular custom to be set aside by Christian influence. . . . The pagan festival with its riot and merrymaking was so popular that Christians were glad of an excuse to continue its celebration with little change in spirit and in manner. Christian preachers of the West and the Near East protested against the unseemly frivolity with which Christ’s birthday was celebrated, while Christians of Mesopotamia accused their Western brethren of idolatry and sun worship for adopting as Christian this pagan festival.”

Remember, the Roman world had been pagan. Prior to the fourth century, Christians were few in number, though increasing, and were persecuted by the government and by pagans. But, with the advent of Constantine as emperor, who made his profession of Christianity in the fourth century, placing Christianity on an equal footing with paganism, people of the Roman world began to accept this now-popular Christianity by the hundreds of thousands.

But remember, these people had grown up in pagan customs, chief of which was this idolatrous festival of December 25th. It was a festival of merrymaking, with its special spirit. They enjoyed it! They didn’t want to give it up! Now this same article in the New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge explains how the recognition by Constantine of Sunday, which had been the day of pagan sun worship, and how the influence of the pagan Manichaeism, which identified the SON of God with the physical SUN, gave these pagans of the fourth century, now turning over wholesale to “Christianity,” their excuse for calling their pagan-festival date of December 25th (birthday of the SUN-god) the birthday of the SON of God.

And that is how “Christmas became fastened on our Western world! We may call it by another name, but it’s the same old pagan sun-worshipping festival still! The only change is in what we call it! You can call a rabbit a “lion,” but it’s still a rabbit, just the same.

Again from the Encyclopaedia Britannica: “Certain Latins, as early as 354, may have transferred the birthday from January 6th to December 25, which was then a Mithraic feast, the birthday of the unconquered SUN . . . The Syrians and Armenians, who clung to January 6th, accused the Romans of sun worship and idolatry, contending . . . that the feast of December 25th, had been invented by disciples of Cerinthus. . . .”

The Real Origin of Christmas

But if we got Christmas from the Roman Catholics, and they got it from paganism, where did the pagans get it? Where, when, and what was its real origin?

It is a chief custom of the corrupt system denounced all through Bible prophecies and teachings under the name of Babylon. And it started and originated in the original Babylon of ancient Nimrod! Yes, it stems from roots whose beginning was shortly this side of the Flood!

Nimrod, grandson of Ham, son of Noah, was the real founder of the Babylonish system that has gripped the world ever since—the system of organized competition—of man-ruled governments and empires, based upon the competitive and profit-making economic system. Nimrod built the tower of Babel, the original Babylon, ancient Nineveh, many other cities. He organized the world’s first kingdom. The name Nimrod, in Hebrew, is derived from “Marad,” meaning “he rebelled.”

From many ancient writings, considerable is learned of this man, who started the great organized worldly apostasy from Elohimthat has dominated this world until now. Nimrod was so evil, it is said he married his own mother, whose name was Semiramis. After Nimrod’s untimely death, his so-called mother-wife, Semiramis, propagated the evil teaching of the survival of Nimrod as a spirit being. She claimed a full-grown evergreen tree sprang overnight from a dead tree stump, which symbolized the springing forth unto new life of the dead Nimrod. On each anniversary of his birth, she claimed, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it. December 25th was the birthday of Nimrod. This is the real origin of the Christmas tree.

Through her scheming and designing, Semiramis became the Babylonian “Queen of Heaven,” and Nimrod, under various names, became the “divine son of heaven.” Through the generations, in this idolatrous worship, Nimrod became the false Messiah, son of Baal the Sun-god. In this false Babylonish system, the “Mother and Child,” (Semiramis and Nimrod reborn), became chief objects of worship. This worship of “Mother and Child” spread over the world. The names varied in different countries and languages. In Egypt, it was Isis and Osiris. In Asia, Cybele and Deoius. In Pagan Rome, Fortuna and Jupiterpuer. Even in Greece, China, Japan, Tibet is to be found the counterpart of the Madonna, long before the birth of Messiah!

Thus, during the fourth and fifth centuries, when the pagans of the Roman world were “accepting” the new popular “Christianity” by hundreds of thousands, carrying their old pagan customs and beliefs along with them, merely cloaking them with Christian-sounding names, the Madonna and “Mother and Child” idea also became popularized, especially at Christmas time. Every Christmasseason you’ll hear sung and chanted dozens of times the hymn “Silent Night, Holy Night,” with its familiar “Mother and Child” theme. We, who have been born in such a babylonish world, reared and steeped in these things all our lives, have been taught to revere these things as holy, and sacred. We never questioned to see where they came from—whether they came from the Scriptures, or from pagan idolatry!

We are shocked to learn the truth—some, unfortunately, take offense at the truth! But Elohim commands His faithful ministers, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression!” Shocking as these facts are, they are the facts of history and the Scriptures!

The real origin of Christmas goes back to the ancient Babylon. It is bound up in the organized apostasy with which the devil has tricked and deceived the world these many centuries! In Egypt, it was always believed that the son of Isis (Egyptian name for “Queen of Heaven”) was born December 25th. Paganism celebrated this famous birthday over most of the known world for centuries before the birth of Messiah.

December 25th is not the birthday of  Yahwah the true Messiah! The apostles and early true Assembly never celebratedMessiah’s birthday at any time. There is no command or instruction to celebrate it in the Scriptures—rather, the celebrating of birthdays is a pagan, not a Messianic custom, believe it or not!

Thus the ancient idolatrous “Chaldean Mysteries,” founded by this wife of Nimrod, have been handed down through the pagan religions under new Christian-sounding names.

Origin of Holly Wreath, Mistletoe, Yule Log

Now, where did we get this mistletoe custom? Among the ancient pagans the mistletoe was used at this festival of the winter solstice because it was considered sacred to the sun, because of its supposed miraculous healing power. The pagan custom of kissing under the mistletoe was an early step in the night of revelry and drunken debauchery—celebrating the death of the “old sun” and the birth of the new at the winter solstice. Mistletoe, sacred in pagan festivals, is a PARASITE!

Holly berries were also considered sacred to the sun-god. The Yulelog is in reality the “sun log.” “Yule” means “wheel,” a pagan symbol of the sun. Yet today professing Christians speak of the “sacred yule-tide season!”

Even the lighting of fires and candles as a Christmas ceremony is merely a continuation of the pagan custom, encouraging the waning sun-god as he reached the lowest place in the southern skies!

The Encyclopedia Americana says: “The holly, the mistletoe, the Yule log . . . are relics of pre-Christian times.” Of paganism!

The book Answers to Questions, compiled by Frederick J. Haskins, found in public libraries, says: “The use of Christmaswreaths is believed by authorities to be traceable to the pagan customs of decorating buildings and places of worship at the feast which took place at the same time as Christmas The Christmas tree is from Egypt, and its origin dates from a period long anterior to the Messianic Era.”

Yes, and Even Santa Claus!

But surely dear old Santa Claus is not a creature of pagan birth? But he is, and his real character is not so benevolent and holy as many suppose!

The name “Santa Claus” is a corruption of the name “St. Nicholas,” a Roman Catholic bishop who lived in the 5th century. Look in the Encyclopedia Britannica, volume 19, pages 648-649, where you’ll read: “St. Nicholas, bishop of Myra, a saint honored by the Greeks and Latins on the sixth of December. . . . A legend of his surreptitious bestowal of dowries on the three daughters of an impoverished citizen . . . is said to have originated the old custom of giving presents in secret on the eve of St. Nicholas [Dec. 6], subsequently transferred to Christmas day. Hence the association of Christmas with Santa Claus. . . .”

Through the year, parents punish their children for telling falsehoods. Then, at Christmas time, they themselves tell their little children this “Santa Claus” lie! Is it any wonder many of them, when they grow up and learn the truth, begin to believe Elohim is a myth, too?

One little fellow, sadly disillusioned about “Santa Claus,” said to a playmate, “Yes, and I’m going to look into this ‘Jesus Christ’ business, too!” Is it Messianic to teach children myths and falsehoods? Elohim says “Thou shalt not bear false witness!” It may seem right, and be justified by human reason, but Elohim says “There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death!” “Old Nick” also is a term for the devil! Is there a connection? Satan appears as an “angel of light,” to deceive!(II Cor. 11:14; Rev.12:9.)

And so when we examine the facts, we are astonished to learn that the practice of observing Christmas is not, after all, a trueMessianic practice, but a Pagan custom—one of the ways of Babylon our people have fallen into!

What the Bible Says About the Christmas Tree

But if the Scriptures are silent about telling us to observe Christmas , or recording any such observance by the apostles or early true Church, it does have something to say about the Christmas tree!

This will come as a real surprise to many. But here it is:

Jer. 10:2-6,“Thus saith  Yahwah ElohimLearn not the way of the heathen. . . . For the customs of the people are vain; . . . for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and gold, they fasten it with nails and hammers, that it move not.”

There is a perfect description of the Christmas tree, termed by the Eternal as “the way of the heathen—the custom of the people.” We are commanded not to learn that way or follow it! It is also viewed in this passage as idolatry. The fifth verse shows that these trees cannot speak—cannot walk—must be carried. “Be not afraid of them, for they [the trees] cannot do evil neither also is it in them to do good.” They are not gods to be feared. Some people misread this to make it say there is no harm in having a Christmastree, but that is not what it says.

Isn’t Exchanging Gifts Scriptural?

But when it comes to the most important part of all in this Christmas observance—the Christmas SHOPPING season—the buying and exchanging of gifts—many will exclaim triumphantly, “Well, at least the Scriptures tell us to do that! Didn’t the wise men give gifts, when Messiah was born?”

Again, we are due for some surprises, when we learn the truth. First, let’s look at the historic origin of trading gifts back and forth, then see exactly what the Scriptures do say about it.

From the Bibliotheca Sacra, volume 12, pages 153-155, we quote, “The interchange of presents between friends is alike characteristic of Christmas and the Saturnalia, and must have been adopted by Christians from the Pagans, as the admonition of Tertullian plainly shows.”

The fact is, this custom fastened upon people of exchanging gifts with friends and relatives at the Christmas season has not a single trace of Truth about it, strange though that may seem! This does not celebrate Messiah’s birthday or honor it or Him! Suppose someone you love has a birthday. You want to honor that person on his or her birthday. Would you lavishly buy gifts foreveryone else, trading gifts back and forth with all your other friends and loved ones, but ignore completely any gift for the one whose birthday you are honoring? Rather absurd, when viewed in that light, isn’t it?

Yet this is exactly what people the world over are doing! They honor a day that is not Messiah’s birthday by spending every dime they can scrape together in buying presents to trade back and forth among friends and relatives. But I can say by years of experience, as I believe most pastors and ministers can say, that when the month of December rolls around, almost all professing Christians forget to give gifts to Messiah’s and His cause almost altogether! December always is the most difficult month to keepMessiah’s work from dying! People are too busy trading gifts back and forth among themselves to think of Him and His Work, it seems. Then, in January and even into February it seems they have to catch up from what they spent for Christmas , so they seldom get back to normal in supporting Messiah and His Work before March!

Now consider what the Scripture says about giving gifts when Messiah was born. It is in Mat.2: 1-11. “Now when  Yahwah Messiah was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews?’ . . . And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto HIM gifts; gold and frankincense, and myrrh.”

Why Gifts Presented to Messiah

Notice, they inquired for the child  Yahwah Messiah, who was born KING of the Jews! Now why did they present gifts to Him? Because it was His birthday? Not at all, because they came several days or weeks after the date of His birth! Was it to set an example for us, today, to trade gifts back and forth among ourselves? No, notice carefully! They did not exchange gifts among themselves, but “they presented unto HIM gifts.” They gave their gifts to Messiah, not to their friends, relatives, or one another!

Why? Let me quote from the  Adam Clarke Commentary, volume 5, page 46: “Verse 11(They presented unto him gifts.) The people of the east never approach the presence of kings and great personages, without a present in their hands. The custom is often noticed in the Old Testament, and still prevails in the east, and in some of the newly discovered South Sea Islands.”

There it is! They were not instituting a new Messianic custom of exchanging gifts with friends to honor Messiah’s birthday. They were following an old and ancient eastern custom of presenting gifts to a king when they come into his presence. They were approaching Him, born KING of the Jews, in person. Therefore custom required they present gifts—even as the Queen of Sheba brought gifts to Solomon—even as many people today take a gift along when they visit the White House for an appointment with the President.

No, the custom of trading GIFTS back and forth does not stem from this scriptural incident at all, but rather, as quoted from history above, it is the continuance of an ancient pagan custom. Instead of honoring Messiah, it invariably retards His Work, often sets it back, at the Christmas season every year.

Does It Really Honor MESSIAH ?

Now come two arguments often used to justify Christmas observance.

1) Many will reason this way: “But, even though the exact date of  Yahwah Messiah’s birth is unknown, should we not select some date to celebrate as His birthday?” The answer is positively no! Did you not notice the statement quoted from theCatholic Encyclopedia“Sinners alone, not saints, celebrate their birthdays.” The celebration of birthdays is not a Messianic custom, but a pagan custom, observed by sinners!

2) But, many still reason, “Even so—even though Christmas was a pagan custom, honoring the false sun-god, we don’t observe it to honor the false god, we observe it to honor Messiah.”

But how does Elohim answer in HIS Word? “Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them [the pagans in their customs] . . . that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto  Yahwah thy Elohim: for every abomination to the Eternal, which HE hateth, have they done unto their gods” (Deut. 12:30-31).

Elohim says plainly in His Instruction Book to us, that He will not accept that kind of worship, even though intended in His honor. To Him, He says, it is offering what is abominable to Him, and therefore it honors, not Him, but false pagan gods. Elohim says we must not worship Him according to the “dictates of our own conscience”—a term we often hear. But  Yahwah Messiahsays plainly, “Elohim is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (Jn. 4:24). And what is truth?Elohim’s Word—the Holy Scriptures—said  Yahwah Messiah, is truth (Jn.17:17); and the Scriptures say Elohim will not accept worship when people take a pagan custom or manner of worship and try to honor Messiah with it.

Again,  Yahwah Messiah said: “In vain they do worship ME, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Mt. 15:9). Christmas observance is a tradition of men, and the commandments of Elohim, as quoted, forbid it.  Yahwah Messiah said, further, “full well ye reject the commandment of Elohim, that ye may keep your own tradition.”

That is precisely what the millions are doing today. They ignore the commandment of Elohim. He commands, regarding taking the customs of the pagans and using them to honor or worship Elohim:”Thou shalt not do so unto  Yahwah thy Elohim.” Still, most people today take that command of Elohim lightly, or as having no validity whatsoever, and follow the tradition of men in observing Christmas .

Make no mistake! Elohim will allow you to defy and disobey Him. He will allow you to follow the crowd and the traditions of men. He will allow you to sin. But He also says there is a day of reckoning coming. As you sow, so shall you reap!  Yahwah Messiah was the living Word of Elohim in Person, and the Scriptures are the written Word of Elohim. And we shall be judged, for eternity, by these words! They should not be taken lightly or ignored.

We’re in Babylon, and Haven’t Known It

Christmas has become a commercial season. It’s sponsored, kept alive, by the heaviest retail advertising campaigns of the year. You see a masqueraded “Santa Claus” in many stores. Ads keep us deluded and deceived about the “beautiful spirit.” TheChristmas newspapers, who sell the ads, print flowery editorials exalting and eulogizing the pagan season, and its “spirit.” A gullible people has become so inoculated, many take offense when told the TRUTH.  But the “Christmas spirit” is created each year, not to honor Messiah, but to sell merchandise! Like all Satan’s delusions, it appears as an “angel of light,” is made to appear good. Billions of dollars are spent in this merchandising spree every year, while the cause of Messiah must suffer! It’s part of the economic system of Babylon!

We have professed to be Messianic nations, but we’re in Babylon, as Scriptual prophecy foretold, and we don’t know it!“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues”—now soon to fall—is the warning of Rev. 18:4.

This year, instead of gift trading, why not put that money into Elohim’s Work?

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

CHRISTIANS WHO DO NOT KNOW

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

STUDY BY  Pastor Isaac E. Kusuma

The word Christian or Christians originated with the Catholics. Protestants still cling on to it. In reality, no one in the first century was called a Christian. This word is only written three times in the Catholic and Protestant Bibles: (1) Acts 11:26 (2) Acts 26:27,28 (3) 1 Peter 4:16.

The word Christian is derived from Christ. The Hebrews (Israelites and Jews) knew Him only as Messiah . The all looked forward towards the coming of the Messiah , not Christ. Messiah is not Christ. Christ is not Messiah . If we study Daniel 9:25, “the Anointed One, the Prince” is explained in the footnote as Messiah . Thus it is written that Messiah means the Anointed One. Messiah is a Hebrew word. In Hebrew, Messiah was called as Elohim (Exodus 5:3; 7:16; 9:4,13).

The Law and the Prophets were all written in Hebrew language. Now the whole earth had one language and one speech (Genesis 11:1).Therefore it is proved that Yahwah, the Creator, spoke in Hebrew. That Yahwah Messiah told His name in Hebrew, when He encountered Saul on the way to Damascus, is proved by the following references: Acts 9:4; 22:7; and 26:14. Acts 22:2 proves that when Saul talked in Hebrew, all the Israelites listened to him silently.

Because all the disciples who followed Messiah were Hebrew, they knew Him only as Messiah and not as Christ. But John 4:25 states that “Messiah who is called Christ.” The words “who is called Christ” have been added. The word “Christ” has been used to omit the word or title “Messiah .” We can definitely say that He is the “Messiah ” and not the “Messiah who is called Christ.”

The word Christians came from

the added words “who is called Christ.”

Likewise let us see other added words: “Saul who also is called Paul” (Acts 13:9). The words “who also is called Paul” have been added. To omit the Hebrew word/name “Saul,” “who also is called Paul” was added to change it to Paul.

Messiah called him, “Saul! Saul!” Read the following texts: Acts 9:4,11; 22:7; 26:14. Even after being baptized by Ananias and starting his gospel work, he was still called as Saul (Acts 9:11,17,22,24; 11:25,30; 12:25; 13:1,2,7). Only in Acts 13:9 was the actual name of Saul omitted and the name Paul was written. Likewise, the actual title or name, Messiah , was removed and replaced with Christ. His disciples only said, “We have found the Messiah ” but never said that they had found Christ (John 1:41).

The word Messiah means “Anointed One” (John 1:42). In John 1:42, the phrase “Anointed One” has a footnote saying that in the original language it is Christ. The Bible Society people should tell us what the original language was of “in the original language it is Christ.” Please find out “the original language” and tell me. I desperately want to know where the language came from, whose language this was, and what its script was. Every Christian who is called a Christian should know this “original language.”

Bible was not written in what they call “the original language.” The Bible was written in Hebrew. Since all of Messiah’s disciples wereHebrews, the books Matthew through Revelation were written in Hebrew. We see many Hebrew words. For example: Messiah , hallelujah, amen, rabbi, rabboni, Golgotha, Yepatha, thalithakumi, Eli Eli Lama Sabachtami, etc. How was the Bible written in Greek and notHebrew when all the places and events that were written were related to the land of Israel? Weren’t all the writers of the books of the New Testament, His disciples? Think about it!

The Bible was originally for the Jews (Romans 3:1-3).

Messiah the Saviour is a Jew (John 4:9).

Salvation came from the Jews to the gentiles (John 4:22).

The New Testament is for both Israelites and Jews (Jeremiah 31:31; Hebrew 8:8).

The Messiah came for the Jews (Matthew 10:5,6).

The promises, testaments and hopes were all for the Jews (Ephesians 2:12; Romans 9:4).

Elohim in the world is a Jew (Ephesians 2:12).

The bread was only for the Jewish children (Matthew 15:26).

The Messiah was the king of the Jews (Matthew 2:2).

The Messiah came to His own people (John 1:11).

The people who looked forward to the Messiah’s coming were Jews (John 4:25).

They knew that the Messiah would be born in their country (Matthew 2:4).

The Jews knew Him only as Messiah (John 1:41-42).

All His disciples were Jews (Matthew 10:2-4).

He came to save the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 10:6).

The feast was readied for the Jews (Matthew 22:1-10).

The Passover was celebrated with them (Matthew 26:17-29).

The betrayer was also of His people (Matthew 26:14-26).

The people who killed Him were also of His people (11:26,59).

The whole history was of the Jews ; All these incidents happened in

Israel; the language spoken was Hebrew.

PLEASE NOTE

They only said Yahwah Messiah was the king of the Jews (Matthew 2:2) but did not say that He was the founder of Christianity or a New Way.

They called Him, Son of Man, Son of Elohim, Son of Joseph, Sovereign Son and Beloved Son, but they did not call Him the God of Christians or the Second in the Trinity. They called Him Nazarene (Matthew 2:23), but they never called Him Jesus Christ. Pilot asked Him if He was the king of the Jews (Matthew 27:11), but did not ask Him if He was the founder of Christianity. The people and disciples called Him Rabbi and Rabboni but they did not call Him a Christian Teacher. They said that they had found the person written about in the Law by Moses and the Prophets(John 1:45), but they never said that He was the God of Mala and Madiga or the God of the Americans.

John only said that He was the lamb of Elohim that takes away the sins of the world, but he never said that He would take away the sins of the Christians.

LET US STUDY THE WORD, ‘CHRIST’

The word Christ came from the word Cristos. Cristos means sun god. The Romans were Sun worshippers. Sun worshippers — Sunday worshippers. They changed That Messiah to Christ and became supposed-Christians. They were totally pagan. They had all pagan rituals. They were great idol worshippers. The Jews were different from these people. If the Jews were Sabbath-keepers, the Romans were Sun-worshippers and that is why they worship on Sunday (Sun’s day) or the first day of the week. Even though they knew the Living Elohim, they followed pagan rituals like idol worship, idol-related days, Christmas, Lent, birthdays, death-days, thus establishing anti-Jewish doctrines and became Christians. That this why they say that Catholics and Protestants are the two strong arms of Christianity. The Catholics elevate Peter and say that he is their first pope. In reality that is a lie. Peter’s actual name is “kepha” which means “a stone” (John 1:42). He is a Jew. Protestants are those who came out of Catholics. But before all of them were the Jews who believed in the That Messiah and were the true believers. They are believers of the true assembly. They are neither Catholics nor Protestants. They are Messianic Jews Jewswho believe in the That Messiah ).

Acts 11:26. The disciples were called “Jews who believed in the Messiah” in Antioch. The following Bibles all say this: The Scriptures, Complete Jewish Bible, Restoration of Original Sacred name New TestamentThe Sacred Scriptures, Jewish New Testament, and Restoration Scriptures.

Acts 26:28. Because king Agrippa was a Jew, he told Saul, “How easily you are making me into a Jew who believes in the Messiah.”

1 Peter 4:16. Because this letter is written by him, Peter wrote, “If anyone suffers as a person of Messiah , let him not be ashamed, but let him by that name glorify Elohim in this matter.”

The translators who translate the Scripture into Telugu with many translation errors and The Bible Society people who publish it with these errors keep silent when they are confronted in many situations since they have no answer. This deceit is prevalent in 150 countries. The Christians of the world are being deceived by this scam. I am not writing this information for those who are in the truth, but rather to awaken the people who are stuck in traditions and rituals.

The 120 people who gathered in the upper room on Pentecost day were all Jews (Acts1:11,13,15).

The 3000 people who were saved by Peter were all Jews (Acts 2:5-7, 14-37).

Peter preached to the Israelites (Acts 3:12).

The 5000 men who believed were all Jews (Acts 4:4).

Ananias and Sapphira were Jews (Acts 5:1-5).

The people to whom Peter and John spoke, were all Israelites (Acts 5:35).

Hebrew- and Greek-speaking Jews were Israelites (Acts 6:1).

The people who debated with Stephen were Jews (Acts 6:8-15; 7:2).

The young Saul was also a Jew (Acts 6:58).

Saul was destroying the Jews who believed in the Messiah (Acts 8:3; 9:1-2).

The disciples first proclaimed the gospel in Israel and then spread it to all other countries (Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:8; 8:1-5,14; 9:31; 10:46; 13:46-48).

After Saul was changed by Messiah , his main and only teaching was that “Yahwah is Messiah .” Before that Saul never accepted that Yahwah was the Messiah . However, after he changed, he proclaimed that Yahwah is the Son of Elohim (Acts 9:21) and that He is the Messiah (Acts 9:22; 17:3; 18:5). Even the Apollothe Jew preached that Yahwah is the Messiah (Acts 18:28). The same Saul who tormented the Jews who believed that Yahwah is the Messiah , became a strong witness after believing the very same truth. That is why two strong groups were formed among the Jews.

1. The Jews who did not believe that Yahwah was the Messiah 2. The Jews who believed that Yahwah was the Messiah
These Jews insisted that circumcision was compulsory (Acts 15:1,5,24) and were confusing the gentiles with this. They preached the controversial gospel of being circumcised (Galatians 1:6). They insisted that you had to gain righteousness through circumcision according to the Law(Galatians 6:12-13; Philippians 3:2). They were warned not to burden the gentiles with the yoke of circumcision (Acts 15:10; 19:20,28,29). They were taught that they had no connection with circumcision. They were taught to stop unholy idol worship, adultery and shedding of blood by murder (Acts 15:20,28,29).
Rejecting the Messiah who had already come, they were still sacrificing animals and waiting for the Messiah to come. Having found the Messiah , they recognized the times and worshipped the Messiah in spirit and truth. They were saved by His blood (John 1:45; 4:46).
Faithful to the letter, they were circumcised of the flesh (Romans 2:29). Spiritually faithful. They were circumcised of the heart (Romans 2: 29).
They knew the law but did not walk according to it (Romans 2:13; Acts 7:53). They were justified by keeping the law(Romans 2: 13).
They were ready to ask for signs and wondersMatthew 12:38,40; 1 Corinthians 1:22; Luke 23:8). Because He is the Word, they gave importance to the Word (2 Peter 1:19).
They were the enemies who would not even kiss Him while accepting the Father (Psalm 2:12; 1 John 2:22). They believed that the Son Himself was God(John 14:8-10). They stand true to His teachings (3 John 1:9).
Stubborn people who were hardened of the heart (Acts 19:9). Obedient people who accept Yahwah (Acts 17:4).
Hurdle stones for the saved people(1Thessalonians 2:16). Servants of the Sovereign Elohim who proclaim the path of salvation (Acts 16:17).
People who kill the lamb, sprinkle the blood on the doorposts and keep the Passover feast(Leviticus 23:5-8). Those who accept that the Messiah is the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world. They are those who eat the bread and drink the wine (1 Corinthians 5:7,8).
They offer sacrifices and keep the feasts(Leviticus 23). They praise Yahwah Messiah and keep the feasts (Acts 2:1).
Pretending to follow the Moral Law, they live in opposition to the Law (Acts 7:53; 23:2-5). They live according to the Moral Law and are justified as righteous (Luke 1:5; Acts 24:14,15; 25:8).
They follow the Sabbath but are stubborn about the truth. They have lots of bad thoughts on the Sabbath (Acts 13:48,50; 14:2,5; 17:5,13). They are the Jews and Gentiles believe in theMessiah and follow the Sabbath, walking in the path of truth (Acts 13:42,44). They don’t know about Sunday worship. Even the Bible Society has accepted that the word ‘Sunday’ is not in the Bible.
They only believe from Genesis to Malachi; following the feasts and sacrifices that are written in them. They believe from Genesis to Revelation; believe and follow the feasts mentioned in them praising the Messiah . They don’t know or keep Christmas, Lent, Good Friday and Easter Sunday that are added by Catholics.

The strongest disciple among Yahwah Messiah’s disciples who wrote the most books in the New Testament is Saul. He was a great speaker and a wise man. He was an orthodox Pharisee who learned the law at the feet of Gamaliel. His books were the details of his four trips. This was true of the other disciples, too.

No one ever called Apostle Saul a Christian leader. Just as Yahwah Messiah was never called the founder of Christianity,Saul, too, was not called a Christian. What he was called can be seen in the Word:

For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes (Acts 24:5).

Cladius Lysias called Saul a Roman (Acts 23:26,27). Saul, too, states that he is a Roman (Acts 22:28; 16:37-40).

The Romans called Saul a Jew (Acts 16:20,21).

Saul agrees that he is a Pharisee and a descendent of Pharisees (Acts 23:6; 26:5).

Saul accepts that he was a Jew born in Tarsus of Cilicia (Acts 22:3; 21:39).

In Romans 11:1Saul says that he, too, is an Israelite, born to the family of Abraham in the tribe of BenjaminSaul states that Jews are his blood relations (Romans 11:14).

Neither in the Bible nor in the letters he wrote, did he ever claim to be a Christian. Saul did not know the terms: Christ or Christian.

Look at the Muslims. Every Muslim in any part of the world calls his God as Allah. They do not change their God’s name from one language to another when praying to Him. Likewise look at the Hindus. Wherever they are (even in USA) or whatever language they use, the Hindus still use the same names for their gods. The common sense that these people have seems to be lacking in the Christians. How or why is His name changing with every language? Are there any Christians who wonder why is this happening? Preachers of today are the type who stay in denominations, praise people, try to please denominational leaders and live a servile life. Are there any preachers who give ear to the truth anymore? I have been musing over this for a long time and have realized there aren’t any preachers who care about the truth. There are neither radio speakers nor TV speakers who know how to even say His name. There is no one who even tells His real and pure name to anyone. If anyone were to correct these preachers, they turn around try to spoil the names of those who tell the truth. Instead of leading them in the path of truth, these preachers write and publish books that cover the truth. For example:

In the 147th page of Addanki Ranjit Ophir’s book, “Simhanadam” there is a sub-heading called, “Should we call Him Jesus Christ?” In this, Ophir is twisting the truth and presenting falsehoods to the people. This ‘prophet’ does not know what the doctrines of Jezebel are.

There is another name called “madness” to truth (Mark 3:21; Acts 12:15, 26:24; 1 Corinthians 1:24; 2 Corinthians 11:23). UnfortunatelyAddanki probably does not know this.

Satan chooses those who are intelligent to mislead many good people. Likewise, Addanki is misleading many good people with his book.

Dear brother Addanki, could I ask you this question? Should we call you only as Addanki Ranjit Ophir? (What is your name in Greek and Hebrew?) If you were called by any name, would you respond? If so, why do you only write this particular name? I have read all your books. There is only gossip but no material (truth) in them. I thought to send money for all your books. I will change your name and send the money to your house by money order. Can you cash it? Will the postman give it to you?

There is no word like “Simhanadam” because a lion only roars. Actually the title should have been “Simhagarjhana.” We should only say “Sarpanadam.” If we draw the image of a lion and blow a snake-charmers flute, it will not be right.

Mr. Ranjit you all are definitely apostles (Satan, too, was an apostle sent to Job). But you do not know the teachings of an apostle. When the Saviour was a Jew born in Judah, you should have had the common sense to know that His name would be Jewish. Yet you give Him the name of a Greek goddess (Iesus Cristos). You need to learn a lot more. Don’t be self-satisfied seeing the people who have lesser knowledge than you. Don’t forget to look at the many people who have more knowledge than you, the Hebrew word states, “Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith Yahwah , and my servant whom Ihave chosen: that ye may know and believe ME, and understand that I am HE: before ME there was no God formed, neither shall there be after ME.

Isa 43:11 I, even I, am Yahwah ; and beside ME there is no SAVIOUR.”

Yahwah is SAVIOUR.’ When the Catholic Bibles have Lord in them, how is it that the Protestant Bibles have Jehovahinstead? Can you give me the reason why this is so? Isn’t that the very same Bible that Martin Luther brought out to everyone? Think about it! (I will write about all your mistakes little by little in detail).

It has been proved that the apostles were all Jews and the language they spoke was HebrewMessiah told HIS own NAME in Hebrewto Apostle Saul (Acts 26:14). Now let us consider the gospel that Apostle Saul taught the Jews:

Jews who did not believe the Messiah Jews who believed the Messiah
The Jews were those who were happy to see Peter caught when James was killed (Acts 12:1-3). The Assembly of Jews who were praying for Peter (Acts 12:5,12).
A sorcerer and false prophet on the island of Paphos was a Jew by the name of Bar-Joshua (Acts 13:6). Sergius Paulus, a proconsul, who believed in the Messiah (Acts 13:7).
The synagogue of Antioch in the city of Pisidia (Acts 13:14).

When the Jews saw the multitudes and were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Saul (Acts 13:45,46).

But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Saul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region(Acts 13:50).

Many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Saul and Barnabas (Acts 13:43).

The gentiles + as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed (Acts 13:48).

The unbelieving Jews stirred up the gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren (Acts 14:2).

Some were on the side of the Jews (Acts 14:4).

And when a violent attempt was made by both the gentiles and Jews, with their rulers to abuse and stone them (Acts 14:5).

When they taught in the synagogue at Iconium, many Jews and Greeks believed (Acts 14:1).

Some of them sided with the Jews (Acts 14:4).

Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Saul and dragged him out of the city supposing him to be dead (Acts 14:19). When the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe…and he made many disciples (Acts 14:20-21).
They had a great dispute and argument regarding circumcision (Acts 15:1,5). A decision was made that gentiles were not required to be circumcised (Act 15:10,19,28).
When they were teaching that Yahwahwas the Messiah in the Jewish synagogue at Thessalonica…but the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some evil men from the market place, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason and sought to bring them out to the people (Acts 17:5). And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Saul and Silas(Acts 17:4). Jason, also, was one of the disciples who followed Saul.
But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Sauland Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds (Acts 17:13). Because they searched the scriptures…many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men(Acts 17:11-12).
When he was teaching in the Jewish synagogue at Athens, some argued, called him a babbler, and said that he is a proclaimer of foreign gods. They talked of variously and some of them even mocked him (Acts 17:17-19,32). Some men joined him and believed (Acts 17:34).

Among them were Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

There were some men in the Jewish synagogue at Corinth who argued, blasphemed and opposed him (Acts 18:6). Many of them heard and believed (Acts 18:8).

There were many multitudes (Acts 18:10).

Felix heard of the Messiahand was afraid. He hoped that he would receive money from Saul. Therefore he sent for Saul more often and conversed with him, but because he wanted to be called a good person by the Jews, left Saulbound (Acts 24:24-27). But Saul said, “I am a Jew from Tarsus, in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city (Acts 29:39).

I am indeed a Jew born in Tarsus of Cilicia(Acts 22:3).

The Jews from Asia (Acts 21:27,28,30). These men (Saul & Silaswere Jews (Acts 16:20).
These Jews were yelling to kill Saul and not let him live, tearing their upper clothes and throwing dust up into the air (Acts 22:22). A Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria came to Ephesus (Acts 18:24).

What is His teaching? Who is He? If we consider these questions, it is proved through the scriptures that Yahwah is theMessiah.

For he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the scriptures that Yahwahis the Messiah(Acts 18:28).

The Jews accused him through an orator(Acts 22:30: 24:1,2).
The Jews who wanted to tear Saul apart into pieces (Acts 23:10). Like him, a multitude of Jews who believe theMessiah were in the city of Corinth (Acts 18:10).

There are thousands of Jews who believe theMessiah in Jerusalem (Acts 21:20).

The forty Jews who vowed not to eat or drink till they killed Saul (Acts 23:12-15,20,21).
The high priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by him to strike Him on the mouth (Acts 23:2). The twelve disciples chosen by the Messiahwere all Jews who believed in the Messiah.

In every synagogue there are Jews who believe in Him (Acts 22:19; 26:11). Stephen is also a Jew who believed in the Messiah(Acts 22:20). Ananias, who baptised Saul, was a Jew who believed in the Messiah (Acts 22:12). They all were called Messianicsor Nazarenes, but not Christians. Therefore you, who are called Christians, should first know how the name Christian came about. There are no Christians in the Scriptures. All were Jews who believed in Messiah.

THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH ABOUT EASTER

THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH ABOUT EASTER

The Resurrection was not on Easter Sunday! Easter is not a CHRISTIAN name, but the title of the idolatrous “queen of heaven.” Here’s an explanation of the true origin and meaning of Lent, Easter eggs, and sunrise services!

WHY DO you believe the things you believe, do the things you do? The chances are you never stopped to ask yourself that question. You have been taught since childhood to accept Easter as the chief of the CHRISTIAN holidays. You have supposed it is part of the true CHRISTIAN religion to observe Lent, “Holy Week,” “Good Friday,” to buy hot cross buns at the bakery, to have colored Easter eggs, to dress up and go to ASSEMBLY Easter Sunday – perhaps to attend an Easter sunrise service! Because of the “sheep” instinct in humans, most of us believe a lot of things that are not true. Most of us do a lot of things that are wrong, supposing these things to be right, or even sacred!

Ishtar the Pagan goddess

What is the meaning of the name “Easter“? You have been led to suppose the word means “resurrection of MESSIAH.” For 1600 years the Western world has been taught that MESSIAHrose from the dead on Sunday morning. But that is merely one of the fables the Apostle Paul warned readers of the New Testament to expect. The resurrection did not occur on Sunday! The name “Easter,” which is marry the slightly changed English spelling of the name of the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian goddessIshtar, comes to us from old Teutonic mythology where it is known as Ostern. The Phoenician name of this goddess was Astarte, consort of Baal, the sun ELOHIM, whose worship is denounced by the Almighty in the SCRIPTURES as the most abominable of all pagan idolatry. Look up the word “Easter” in Webster’s dictionary. You will find it clearly reveals the pagan origin of the name. In the large five-volume Hastings Dictionary of the SCRIPTURES, only six brief lines are given to the name “Easter,” because it occurs only once in the SCRIPTURES — and that only in the Authorized King James translation. Says Hastings: “Easter, used in Authorized Version as the translation of ‘Pascha’ in Acts 12:4, ‘Intending after Easter to bring Him forth to the people.’ Revised Standard Version has substituted correctly ‘the Passover.’”

Apostles Observed Passover

The World Almanac, 1968 edition, page 187, says: “In the second century A.D., Easter Day was, among The Early True ASSEMBLY in Asia Minor [that is, in the Assemblies at Ephesus, Galatia, etc. -- the so-called "Gentile" Assemblies raised up by the Apostle Paul] the 14th of Nisan, the seventh month of the Jewish [civil] calendar.” In other words, the 14th day of the first month of the sacred calendar, and it was not then called by the name of the pagan deity “Easter,” but by the SCRIPTURAL name “Passover.” Passover, the Days ofUnleavened BreadPentecost, and the holy days ELOHIM had ordained forever were all observed by YAHWAH MESSIAH, and the early apostles, and the converted Gentile ASSEMBLIES (Acts 2:1; 12:3; 18:21; 20:6, 16; I Cor. 5:7-8; 16:8). Passover is amemorial of the crucifixion of byYAHWAH MESSIAH (Luke 22:19). Passover, observed by the early true ASSEMBLY, occurred not on Sunday or any fixed day of the week, but on a calendar day of the year. The day of the week varies from year to year. Easteris one of the pagan days Paul warned Gentile converts they must not return to observing (Gal. 4:9-10). How, then, did this pagan festival enter into and fasten itself upon a professing CHRISTIANITY? That is a surprising story — but first, notice the true origin and nature of Easter.

Its Chaldean Origin

Easter, as Alexander Hislop says (The Two Babylons, p. 103), “bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven ….” The ancient god’s of the pagans had many different names. While this goddess was called Astarte by the Phoenicians, it appears on Assyrian monuments found by Layard in excavations at Nineveh as Ishtar (Austen H. Layard, Nineveh and Babylon, Vol. II, p. 629). Both were pronounced “Easter.” Likewise, Bel (referred to in the Old Testament), also was called Molech. It was for sacrificing to Molech (I Kings 11:1-11, especially verse 7, where Molech is called an abomination) and other pagan god’s that the Eternal condemned Solomon, and rended away the Kingdom of Israel from his son. In the ancient Chaldean idolatrous sun-worship, as practiced by the Phoenicians, Baal was the sun god; Astarte, his consort or wife. And Astarte is the same as Ishtar, or the English “Easter.” Says Hislop: “The festival, of which we read in ASSEMBLY history, under the name of Easter, in the third or fourth centuries, was quite a different festival from that now observed in the Romish [and Protestant] ASSEMBLY, and at that time was not known by any such name as Easter. It was called Pascha, or the Passover, and … was very early observed by the true professing ASSEMBLY …. That festival agreed originally with the time of the Jewish Passover, when MESSIAH was crucified …. That festival was not idolatrous, and it was preceded by no Lent” (The Two Babylons, p. 104).

Where Did We Get Lent?

“Howbeit you should know,” wrote Johannes Cassianus (John Cassian) in the fifth century, “that as long as the primitiveASSEMBLY retained its perfection unbroken, this observance of Lent did not exist” (First Conference Abbot Theonas, chapter 30). YAHWAH MESSIAH observed no Lent. The apostles and the early true ASSEMBLY of ELOHIM observed no Lenten season. Then how did this observance originate? “The forty days’ abstinence of Lent was directly borrowed from the worshipers of the Babylonian goddess. Such a Lent of forty days, in the spring of the year, is still observed by the Yezidis or pagan Devil-worshippers of Koordistan, who have inherited it from their early masters, the Babylonians. Such a Lent of forty days was held in spring by the Pagan Mexicans …. Such a Lent of forty days was observed in Egypt …” (The Two Babylons, pp. 104, 105). In fact this Egyptian Lent of forty days was observed expressly in honor of Osiris, also known as Adonis in Syria and Tammuz in Babylonia (Sabean Researches, by John Landseer, pp. 111, 112). Do you realize what has happened? ELSHADDIcommanded His people to observe the Passover forever! (Ex. 12:24.) This command was given while the Israelites were still in Egypt, prior to the Old Covenant, or the Law of Moses! It pictured, before the crucifixion, MESSIAH’S death for the remission of our sins, as a type looking forward to it. At His last Passover, YAHWAH MESSIAH changed the emblems used from the blood of a lamb and eating its roasted body to the bread and wine. YAHWAH MESSIAH did not abolish Passover — He merely changed the emblems, or symbols used. All the apostles of MESSIAH and The First Century True ASSEMBLYobserved it on the 14th day of the first month of the sacred calendar. It is now a memorial of Messiah’s death, reaffirming, year by year on its anniversary, The True ASSEMBLY’S faith in the blood of MESSIAH for the remission of His sins, and the broken body of MESSIAH is for physical healing. But what has happened? Do you realize it? All Western nations have been deceived into dropping the festival ELOHIM ordained forever to commemorate the death of the True Saviour for our sins, and substituting in its place the pagan festival in commemoration of the counterfeit “savior” and mediator Baal, the sun god, named after the mythical Ishtar, his wife — actually none other than the ancient Semiramis, who palmed herself off as the wife of the sun god, the idolatrous “queen of heaven.” This is what the early true ASSEMBLY believed, ! It is pagan to the core! Yet scores of millions are deceived into observing this form of heathen idolatry, under the delusion they are honoring YAHWAH MESSIAH the Son of the Creator ELOHIM ! Easter does not honor MESSIAH ! And yet, have you not been like a blind sheep, following the other millions in observing this custom? “The times of this ignorance ELOHIM winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent” (Acts 17:30).

Dyed Eggs

But did you know that dyed Easter eggs also figured in the ancient Babylonian mystery rites, just as they do in Easter observance today? Yes, these are pagan, too. It is recorded in Edward Davies’ “The Mythology and Rites of the British Druids,” page 210, that the ancient Druids bore an egg as the sacred emblem of their idolatrous order. Eggs were sacred to many ancient civilizations and formed an integral part of the religious ceremonies in Egypt and in the Orient. According to James Bonwick: “Eggs were hung up in the Egyptian temples. Bunsen calls attention to the mundane egg, the emblem of generative life, proceeding from the mouth of the great god of Egypt. The mystic egg of Babylon, hatching theVenus Ishtar, fell from heaven to the Euphrates. Dyed eggs were sacred Easter offerings in Egypt, as they are still in China and Europe.Easter, or spring, was the season of birth, terrestrial and celestial” (Egyptian Belief and Modern Thought, pp. 211-212). Why do people who believe themselves to be CHRISTIANS dye eggs at Easter? Do they suppose the SCRIPTURES ordained, or commands, this heathen custom? There is not a word of it in the New Testament. Certainly MESSIAH did not start it, and the apostles and The First Century True ASSEMBLY did none of it! Then why should you do it today? Why follow heathenism and try to convince yourself you are a CHRISTIAN? ELOHIM calls such things abomination!

Easter Sunrise Services

You think Easter sunrise services are beautiful? Listen! ELOHIM was showing the Prophet Ezekiel the sins of His people in a vision — a prophecy for today! “Turn thee yet again,” said ELOHIM , “and thou shalt see greater abominations than these [Ezekiel had just been shown, in vision, idol worship among professing people of ELOHIM ]. And he brought me [in vision] into the inner court of the Eternal’s house, and behold … between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with … their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing … that they commit the abominations which they commit here? … Therefore will I deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them”! (Ezek. 8:15-18.) Do you grasp what this most abominable thing is? It is the identical thing millions are doing every Easter Sunday morning — the sunrise service — standing with their faces toward the east, as the sun is rising, in a service of worship which honors the sun god and his mythical idolatrous consort, goddess Easter. Yes, deceived into believing this is CHRISTIAN, millions practice every Easter the identical form of the ancient sun worship of the sun god Baal! Throughout the SCRIPTURES this is revealed as the most abominable of all idolatry in the sight of the Eternal Creator!

How Easter Crept Into the ASSEMBLY

Such is the origin and early history of Easter. How, then, was this pagan festival injected into professing CHRISTIAN religion, as a substitute for an ordinance of ELOHIM ?

Before revealing briefly the astonishing account of this great deception, two facts must be firmly fixed in mind. First, YAHWAH MESSIAH and the apostles foretold, not a universal, widespread popular growth of The True New Testament ASSEMBLY, but a falling away from the truth on the part of the great majority. Prophesying a popular, universal falling away from the faith once delivered, to the Thessalonians Paul stated, “The mystery of iniquity doth already work,” only some 20 years after the ASSEMBLY began! He referred to the very “Chaldean Mysteries,” of which Easter and Christmas were the two chief festivals! Second, although YAHWAH MESSIAH said the gates of hell would never prevail against His ASSEMBLY, yet it is prophesied in the New Testament to be the “little flock” never as a great, large, popular universal ASSEMBLY (Luke 12:32). This is the very fact the world does not realize today!

TWO ASSEMBLIES — One False, One True

In New Testament prophecy TWO ASSEMBLIES are described. One, the great and powerful and universal ASSEMBLY, a part of the world, actually ruling in its politics over many nations, and united with the “Holy Roman Empire,” is brought to a concrete focus in Revelation 17. This ASSEMBLY is pictured with great pomp, ritual and display, decked in purple, scarlet and gold — proud, worldly, boastful. She is pictured as a universal deceiver — all the Western nations spiritually drunk with her false doctrines, their spiritual perception so blurred by her paganized teachings and practices they are unable to clearly distinguish truth! She boasts she is The True ASSEMBLY, yet she is drunken with the blood of the saints she has caused to be martyred! But how could she have deceived the whole world, as foretold in ELOHIM’S Word? Surely, the Protestant world isn’t deceived! Oh, but it is! Notice, verse 5, she is a mother assembly! Her daughters are also ASSEMBLIES who have come out of her, in protest, calling themselves Protestant — but they are fundamentally of her family in pagan doctrines and practices! They, too, make themselves a part of this world, taking active part in its politics — the very act which made a “harlot” out of their mother! The entire apostate family — mother, and more than 400 daughter denominations, all divided against each other and in confusion of doctrines, yet all united in the chief pagan doctrines and festivals — has a family name! They call themselves “CHRISTIAN,” but ELOHIM calls them something else — “Mystery, Babylon the Great”! “Babylon” means confusion! ELOHIM always names people and things by calling them what they are! And here are the identical ancient Babylonian Mysteries now wrapped in the false cloak labeled “CHRISTIANITY” — but in fact it is the same old “Babylonian Mystery System.” But where, then, was the True ASSEMBLY ?

TRUE ASSEMBLY Small — Scattered

Did the True ASSEMBLY of ELOHIM, of which YAHWAH MESSIAH is the living, directing Head, become perverted — did it merely apostatize into the system described above? No! The gates of hell have never prevailed against the True ASSEMBLY of ELOHIM, and never will! The True ASSEMBLY has never fallen! It has never ceased! But the True ASSEMBLY of ELOHIM is pictured in prophecy as the “little flock”! The New Testament describes this ASSEMBLY as continually persecuted, despised by the large popular ASSEMBLIES because it is not OF this world or its politics, but has kept itself unspotted from the world! It has always kept the Commandments of ELOHIM and the faith of YAHWAH (Rev. 12:17). It has kept ELOHIM’S Festivals, not the pagan holidays. It has been empowered with the Spirit of ELOHIM! That ASSEMBLY never became the great popular ASSEMBLY at Rome, as the Protestant world supposes! That ASSEMBLYhas always existed, and it exists today! Then where did it go? Where was it during the Middle Ages? Where is it today? (Write for our free booklet “Where Is ELOHIM’S True ASSEMBLY Today?”)

First, remember this ASSEMBLY was never large, never politically powerful, or a world-known organization of men. It is a spiritual organism, not a political organization. It is composed of all whose hearts and lives have been changed by the Spirit of ELOHIM, whether visibly together, or individually scattered. Under the lash of continual persecution and opposition from the organized forces of this world, it is difficult for such a people to remain united and organized together. Daniel prophesied the true people of ELOHIM would be scattered (Dan. 12:7). Ezekiel foretold it (Ezek. 34:5-12). Jeremiah, too (Jer. 23:1-2). YAHWAH MESSIAH foretold it (Matt. 26:31). The apostolic ASSEMBLY was soon scattered by persecution (Acts 8:1).

Ignored by Most Histories

You don’t read much of this true Body of YAHWAH MESSIAH in the secular histories of this world! No, the world little notes, nor long remembers, the activities of this “little flock,” hated and despised by the world, driven to the wilderness by persecution, always opposed, usually scattered! But there are enough references to it in authentic histories to show that it has continued through every century to now! The prophecies bring this ASSEMBLY into concrete focus in the 12th chapter of Revelation. There she is shown spiritually, in the glory and splendor of the Spirit of ELOHIM , but visibly in the world as a persecuted Commandment keeping ASSEMBLY driven into the wilderness, for 1260 years, through the Middle Ages! Even inPaul’s day, many among those attending at Antioch, at Jerusalem, at Ephesus, at Corinth, and other places, began to apostatize and turn away from the truth. Divisions sprang up. Those individuals, unconverted or turned from ELOHIM truth and way of life, were no part of ELOHIM’S True ASSEMBLY , though visibly assembling with those who were. The “mystery of iniquity” was already working inside these visible ASSEMBLIES. This apostasy increased! By the year A.D. 125 the majority in mostASSEMBLIES, especially those Gentile-born, were continuing in many of their old pagan beliefs and practices, though professing to be MESSIANIC! Gradually, a smaller and smaller portion of the visible ASSEMBLIES going by the name “MESSIANIC” remained truly yielded to ELOHIM and His Truth, and led of His Spirit. After Constantine took virtual control of the visible, professing ASSEMBLY in the early fourth century, this visible organization became almost wholly pagan, and began excommunicating and persecuting all who held to the True Word of ELOHIM! Finally, it became necessary for real MESSIANICS, who, even as a scattered people, alone composed the True MESSIANIC ASSEMBLY, to flee from the jurisdiction of Rome in order truly to worship ELOHIM! Thus, the visible, organized ASSEMBLY which rose to power was the FALSE ASSEMBLY — the “Great Whore” of Revelation 17, called what we know as Christian.

Injected Into the ASSEMBLY

Nothing illustrates this very fact more vividly than the actual history of the injecting of Easter into the Western ASSEMBLY. Here is the quick, brief history of it, from the Encyclopedia Britannica (11th edition, Vol. VIII, pp. 828-829): “There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament, or in the writings of The Apostolic Fathers …. The first Original True ASSEMBLY ] continued to observe the Jewish [that is, ELOHIM'S] festivals, though in a new spirit, as commemorations of events which those festivals had foreshadowed. Thus the Passover, with a new conception added to it, of YAHWAH MESSIAH as the true Paschal Lamb and the first fruits from the dead, continued to be observed. “Although the observance ofEaster was at a very early period in the practice of the CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY, a serious difference as to the day for its observance soon arose between the MESSIANICS of Jewish and those of CHRISTIANS Gentile descent, which led to a long and bitter controversy. With the Jewish MESSIANICS … the fast ended … on the 14th day of the moon at evening … without regard to the day of the week. The Gentile CHRISTIANS on the other hand [that is, the beginning of the Roman ASSEMBLY, now substituting pagan for True MESSIANIC doctrines] … identified the first day of the week with the resurrection, and kept the preceding Friday as the commemoration of the crucifixion, irrespective of the day of the month. “Generally speaking, the WesternASSEMBLIES [Catholic] kept Easter on the 1st day of the week, while the Eastern ASSEMBLIES [containing most of those who remained as part of the True ASSEMBLY ] followed the Jewish rule. [That is, observing Passover on the 14th of the first sacred month instead of the pagan Easter.] “Polycarp, the disciple of John the Evangelist, and bishop of Smyrna, visited Rome in 159 [sic] to confer with Anicetus, the bishop of that see, on the subject, and urged the tradition which he had received from the apostles of observing the 14th day. Anicetus, however, declined. About forty years later (197), the question was discussed in a very different spirit between Victor, bishop of Rome, and Polycrates, metropolitan of proconsular Asia [the territory of True ASSEMBLIES at Ephesus, Galatia, Antioch, Philadelphia, and all those mentioned in Revelation 2 and 3 -- The True ASSEMBLIES established through the Apostle Paul]. That province was the only portion of True ASSEMBLIES which still adhered to the Jewish usage.Victor demanded that all should adopt the usage prevailing at Rome. This Polycrates firmly refused to agree to, and urged many weighty reasons to the contrary, whereupon Victor proceeded to excommunicate Polycrates and the True ASSEMBLIES who continued the Eastern usage [that is, who continued in , ELOHIM'S way, as YAHWAH MESSIAH , Peter, Paul, and allThe Early True ASSEMBLY had done]. He was, however, restrained [by other bishops] from actually proceeding to enforce the decree of excommunication … and the Asiatic ASSEMBLIES retained their usage unmolested. We find the Jewish [True ASSEMBLY Passover] usage from time to time reasserting itself after this, but it never prevailed to any large extent. “A final settlement of the dispute was one among the other reasons which led Constantine to summon the council at Nicaea in 325. At that time the Syrians and Antiochenes were the solitary champions of the observance of the 14th day. The decision of the council was unanimous that Easter was to be kept on Sunday, and on the same Sunday throughout the world, and that ‘none hereafter should follow the blindness of the Jews.’ [That is, in plain language, the Roman ASSEMBLY now decreed that none should be allowed to follow the ways of YAHWAH MESSIAH -- of the True MESSIANIC ASSEMBLY!] “… The few who afterwards separated themselves from the unity of the ASSEMBLY [Roman ASSEMBLY], and continued to keep the 14th day, were named ‘Quarto-decimani,’ and the dispute itself is known as the ‘Quartodeciman controversy (the 14th day controversy).’” Thus you see how the politically organized ASSEMBLY at Rome grew to great size and power by adopting popular pagan practices and how she gradually stamped out the true teachings, doctrines, and practices of YAHWAH MESSIAH and the True ASSEMBLY, so far as any collective practice is concerned.

The search for the real Bethlehem

By Jonathan Cook in Bethlehem HaGalilit

Monday 20 December 2004, 13:23 Makka Time, 10:23 GMT

The Church of the Nativity draws throngs of Christian pilgrims

For centuries Christians around the world have accepted the Nativity story at face value – that Jesus was born in a stable in the little town of Bethlehem.

But a growing number of Bible scholars and archaeologists are rocking the foundations of Christian faith by suggesting they have identified a different birthplace for Jesus.

They claim to have amassed a considerable body of evidence for their theory but say Church leaders are in no mood to listen.

The traditional account of the Nativity, contained in Matthew’s Gospel, is that Joseph and a pregnant Mary travelled 150km south from their home in Nazareth in the Galilee to the town of Bethlehem, close to Jerusalem, to participate in a census ordered by the Romans. It was there that Jesus was born.

That is the Nativity story that will be read out in churches, acted out in school plays and sung in hymns – and which will attract crowds of pilgrims to celebrations in the Church of the Nativity in the Palestinian town of Bethlehem later in the week.

Matthew’s gospel

For some time, however, critics have observed that Matthew’s account of the Nativity is far from plausible.

“Basic medical knowledge tells you that a heavily pregnant woman could not ride a donkey that kind of distance without losing her baby,” Aviram Oshri, a senior archaeologist with the Israeli Antiquities Authority, says.

Present-day Bethlehem may not
have been the site of Jesus’ birth

Unconvinced by the Nativity story, several Biblical scholars have suggested that a more probable story is that Jesus was born in Nazareth, the city in which he spent most of his life.

But Oshri and others are proposing an alternative place for Jesus’ birth. They say the evidence points to a village a few miles west of Nazareth which also goes by the name of Bethlehem.

To distinguish it from its more famous namesake, the village in northern Israel is usually referred to as Bethlehem of the Galilee, or in Hebrew as Bethlehem HaGalilit.

Archaeological finds

Today Bethlehem HaGalilit is without any visible Christian presence: No churches are in evidence and its old stone homes are all occupied by Jews, mainly descendants of those who fled or died in the Holocaust.

Bethlehem’s only Christmas connection, says Yosef Yeger, the owner of a local hotel and restaurant, is a small private forest of Christmas trees he grows for sale to Christian Arabs in towns such as neighbouring Nazareth.

But according to a leading American scholar and priest, Bruce Chilton, the appearance of the Galilean Bethlehem is deceptive: It has had an intimate connection to Christianity since the time of Jesus’ birth.

Roman remains

In his book Rabbi Jesus, he suggests that Matthew did not entirely fabricate the Nativity story – he simply chose to switch Bethlehems.

On this view, Joseph – originally from the Galilean Bethlehem – met Mary while working on construction sites in Nazareth or at the nearby Roman palace of Sephoris, where it is often suggested Mary grew up.

As the date of the birth approached, the couple made a far easier journey than the one recounted in the Bible - they rode the few miles from their Nazareth home to Joseph’s family in Bethlehem in time for the birth.

But why did Matthew, writing several decades after Jesus’ death, confuse the Bethlehems?

The reason, surmises Chilton, is that Matthew wanted to create an early piece of Christian propaganda to win Jewish converts.

Bethlehem near Jerusalem is mentioned as the hometown of King David. Matthew, knowing that the Old Testament says the Messiah will come from the House of David, hoped to establish a credible link between Jesus and King David through the figure of Joseph.

Quest for debate

Chilton is scathing about the lack of serious academic debate on this issue. “Rather than take sides in this stark controversy, modern scholarship has left the circumstances of Jesus’ birth in a haze of doubt,” he says.

Chilton’s theory, however, has started to gain increasing support from recent archaeological finds in Bethlehem HaGalilit.

Excavations finished only last year have unearthed the remains of a large church and monastery from the Byzantine period, built about 500 years after Jesus’ death.

Tel Aviv airport has on display a
Christian-era mosaic floor

“There is no doubt in my mind that these are impressive and important evidence of a strong Christian community established in Bethlehem a short time after Jesus’ death,” Oshri, of the Israeli Antiquities Authority, says.

An ancient mosaic floor he dug up several years ago in Bethlehem HaGalilit is now on show in Israel’s new international airport terminal near Tel Aviv, but otherwise his findings have gone largely unnoticed both inside and outside Israel.

Deaf ears

Oshri is in no doubt that the sites he has revealed are Christian: At the one he believes to be a monastery, he found oil lamps with crosses on them and many pig bones.

Oshri says Christians have been
unwilling to hear his evidence

He also excavated a large fortified wall surrounding the village of a kind more commonly found around cities, suggesting that its inhabitants regarded the protection of their community as an unusually high priority.

“To put it simply, this community did not want to budge,” said Oshri. “For a village, they were investing lots of money in public and religious buildings and in fortifications.”

Oshri believes there are other important finds to be made which will reveal more about the story of the “other Bethlehem” but for the moment he has run out of funds to dig.

Instead the site has been filled in with earth to protect it.

Loose ends

Oshri finds the idea that the Bethlehem near Jerusalem was the birthplace of Jesus entirely unconvincing. “There is a complete lack of evidence – archaeological or otherwise.

“How did Joseph and Mary meet if he was from Bethlehem and she was from Sephoris? The living patterns of the time make it almost impossible that they could ever have come across each other.”

He also points out that several major excavations were conducted in the Bethlehem near Jerusalem but no evidence was found there of habitation at the time of Jesus. All the remains were from many centuries earlier or several centuries later.

“In contrast there is lots of evidence from excavations in Bethlehem HaGalilit that a community was well-established there at the time of Jesus.”

Economic pressures

But he warns that, whatever the evidence in the Galilee, a revolution in common perceptions of the Nativity is still a long way off. “Business interests are too important. After all this time, the churches do not have a strong interest in changing the nativity story.”

Yeger, who privately admits that he too believes Bethlehem HaGalilit is the birthplace of Jesus, says nonetheless it is not worth making it an issue.

“Do we really need need a fight on our hands with the Vatican? Let the other Bethlehem have the glory.”

Notebook: archaeology

In search of the real Bethlehem
By Norman Hammond, Archaeology Correspondent

AS THE shops fill with Christmas goods, a mere two months ahead of the festival itself, the words and image of “O Little Town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie” will spread across cards and giftwrap. In the view of a leading Israeli archaeologist, Bethlehem really did lie still at the time of Christ’s birth, because there was no little town there, and the Nativity took place elsewhere — at another Bethlehem much closer to Nazareth.

“There is a complete absence of information for antiquities from the Herodian period — that is, from the time around the birth of Jesus,” Aviram Oshri says inArchaeology. “The vast database of the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) describes Bethlehem as an ‘ancient site’ with Iron Age material, and the 4th- century Church of the Nativity and associated Byzantine and medieval buildings.

“Following the Six-Day War in 1967, surveys showed plenty of Iron Age pottery, but with the single exception of a publication that mentions Herodian sherds found in a corner of the church, there is surprisingly no archaeological evidence that ties Bethlehem in Judaea to the period in which Jesus would have been born.” A contemporary aqueduct running through the locality suggests that there was no settlement, since such works did not cross built-up areas.

In the 1990s, as one of the IAA’s staff archaeologists, Mr Oshri carried out rescue archaeology at the rural settlement of Bethlehem in Galilee, and was surprised to find a substantial ancient community of the time of Christ. “We know that Bethlehem of Galilee was a “bustling centre of Jewish life around the time of Jesus’s birth,” he says. “There were residential areas, and a workshop for making stone vessels used in Jewish purification rituals.”

In the 19th century there were suggestions that the Galilee site could have been the “real” Bethlehem, but there was at the time no archaeological evidence to back them up. Since then, evidence of surprisingly strong early Christian interest has been found, including a large 6th-century church with mosaic floors, one of the largest in Israel. It “raises the question of why such a huge house of Christian worship was built in the heart of a Jewish area,” Mr Oshri notes.

There is still the thorny point of the Gospel testimony, with both Matthew and Luke describing Bethlehem in Judaea as the birthplace of Christ, but Mr Oshri notes that it was also the legendary birthplace of King David more than 1,000 years before, and attaching the Nativity of Christ to the location would reinforce His reputed descent from David. It would also bring in the Old Testament prophecies, such as Micah v, 2 — “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that that is to be ruler in Israel” — that foretell the coming of a Messiah, albeit one who will “waste the land of Assyria with the sword”.

Bethlehem of Galilee is itself known in the Old Testament, mentioned by Joshua as a town of the tribe of Zebulon, and as the refuge of guardian priests who fled to Galilee after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. It may never displace its Judaean homonym in Christian belief, but the discrepancy in the archaeological evidence for the two places at the appropriate date remains an intriguing source for speculation.

Passover lambs must be at least a year old

Created by pastorbuddy on 3/13/2009
Passover lambs must be at least a year old.
The following was revealed to me last Passover and it is my duty to make
this information known to those who observe Passover by killing a Lamb.
Hear are some of my notes as to why the lamb must be a year-old.
One key is the phrase WITHOUGT BLEMISH includes being a year-old, not
just defective in body parts. In other words WITHOUT BLEMISH covers
everything including being a year-old. An animal that meets all the
requirements but has not been seven days with its mother will not be
accepted as a possible sacrifice because that is considered a blemish
but a lamb eight days and upwards will be accepted as a candidate for
sacrifice. An animal that has only one ear will not be accepted as a
possible sacrifice even if it meets the other requirements. An animal
that is not a year-old does not meet the requirements because it is not
complete/mature until it reaches a year-old. A sheep does not receive
its adult teeth until a year-old. An animal that is taken away from its
mother after six days and is bottle fed, will not be accepted as a
sacrifice, even if it grows up to be perfect in every other way. An
animal that has been with its mother for at least seven days after birth
and growth to maturity in one year and has not had a broken body part or
defect is eligible for sacrifice.
In the New T
estament when it says to be PERFECT, it is referring to
MATURE. The Father does not won’t an inperfect or immature sacrifice.
The son of YHWH was a mature sacrifice.
Jas 1:4 says, “But let patience have her PERFECT work, that ye may be
PERFECT and ENTIRE, wanting nothing.” Here’s the definition of perfect,
Strong’s Greek Dictionary
5046. teleios
??????? teleios tel’-i-os
from 5056; COMPLETE (in various applications of labor, GROWTH, mental
and moral character, etc.); neuter (as noun, with 3588) COMPLETENESS:–
OF FULL AGE, man, perfect.
Note, a lamb is not perfect or complete or of full age until a year-old.
The definition of entire is,
Strong’s Greek Dictionary
3648. holokleros
????????? holokleros hol’-ok’-lay-ros
from 3650 and 2819; COMPLETE IN EVERY PART, i.e. perfectly sound (in
body):–entire, WHOLE.
Here’s the Hebrew definition of WITHOUT BLEMISH
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
8549. tamiym
Mymt tamiym taw-meem’
from 8552; ENTIRE (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun)
integrity, truth:–without blemish, COMPLETE, FULL, perfect, sincerely
(-ity), sound, without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), WHOLE.
Notice the words mean the same thing.
Le 1:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man
of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring=2
0your offering of
the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
Le 1:3 If his offering be a BURNT SACRIFICE of the herd, let him offer a
male WITHOUT BLEMISH: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
Notice this offering must be a male that is ENTIRE because that is what
the definition of without blemish means and a lamb is not entire or
complete until it gets its adult teeth after one year.
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
8552. tamam
Mmt tamam taw-mam’
a primitive root; to COMPLETE, in a good or a bad sense, literal, or
figurative, transitive or intransitive (as follows):– ACCOMPLISH,
cease, be clean (pass-)ed, consume, have done, (come to an, have an,
make an) end, fail, come to the full, be all gone, X be all here, be
(make) PERFECT, be spent, sum, be (shew self) upright, be wasted, WHOLE.
Ex 12:3 says, “Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In
the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a LAMB,
according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
Ex 12:4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his
neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the
souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the
lamb.
Ex 12:5 Your LAMB shall be WITHOUT BLEMISH, a male of the FIRST Y
EAR: ye
shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
The Hebrew definition of LAMB is,
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
7716. seh
hs seh seh
or sey {say}; probably from 7582 through the idea of PUSHING OUT TO
GRAZE; a member of a flock, i.e. a sheep or goat:–(lesser, small)
cattle, ewe, goat, lamb, sheep. Compare 2089.
An eight day old lamb is a member of the flock BUT does not go out to
graze. A year-old lamb does. The lamb must be a year old member of the
flock which is a grazing lamb.
The definition of year is,
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
8141. shaneh (in pl. only),
hnv shaneh (in pl. only), shaw-neh’
(in plura or (feminine) shanah {shaw-naw’}; from 8138; a year (as a
revolution of time):–+ whole AGE, X long, + old, year(X -ly).
The lamb must be a son of a year or whole year or revolution of time.
Ex 12:5 Your lamb shall be WITHOUT BLEMISH, a male of the FIRST YEAR :
ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
All sacrifices must be a year-old according to the law, even burnt
offense made by fire and nothing should contradict this.
Ex 29:38 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two
lambs of the FIRST YEAR day by day continually.Ex 29:39 The one lamb
thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at
even: . …..Ex 29:41 And the other lamb thou shalt o
ffer at even, and
shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and
according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an OFFERING
MADE BY FIRE unto the LORD.
Ex 29:42 This shall be a continual BURNT OFFERING throughout your
generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the
LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.
Ex 29:43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the
tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.
Notice the burnt offerings/offerings made by fire has to be A YEAR-OLD
Le 9:1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron
and his sons, and the elders of Israel;
Le 9:2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin
offering, and a ram for a BURNT OFFERING, WITHOUT BLEMISH, and offer
them before the LORD.
Le 9:3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye
a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of
the FIRST YEAR, WITHOUT BLEMISH, for a BURNT OFFERING; Le 9:4 Also a
bullock and a ram for PEACE OFFERINGS, to sacrifice before the LORD; and
a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto
you.
Le 9:5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle
of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before
the LORD.
Le 9:620And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that
ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. Le 12:6
And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a
daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the FIRST YEAR for a BURNT OFFERING,
and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door
of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
As far as I can find, every sacrifice and every offering have to be a
year-old, including the Passover.
There is a place in Scripture that looks like animals under a year was
sacrificed but that would not harmonize with the above, not only the
above but there were many scriptures too numerous to mention that
specify the offerings is to be of the FIRST YEAR and we know that FIRST
does not appear in the original and literally says, “son of a year”
lookup first year in the concordance. I do not know of one place that
conclusively teaches a sacrifice under a year. There are many, too
numerous to mention, that says a year-old. The following are the only
two scriptures that I know of that could possibly refer to a sacrifice
under a year old but if that is so, we have contradictory, so I will try
to harmonize the Scriptures to fit the many other scriptures.
1Sa 7:9 And Samuel took a SUCKING LAMB, and offered it for a BURNT
OFFERING wholly20unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for
Israel; and the LORD heard him.
This might be understood as a lamb under a year-old because of the word
SUCKLING but this would contradict the many other scriptures concerning
burnt offerings which had to be  of a YEAR-OLD according to the Law. I
don’t believe Samuel broke the law. The law says, “Ex 29:38 Now this is
that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the FIRST YEAR
day by day continually….Ex 29:41 And the other lamb thou shalt offer
at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the
morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet
savour, an OFFERING MADE BY FIRE unto the LORD.
Ex 29:42 This shall be a continual BURNT OFFERING throughout your
generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the
LORD:
If the law says the burnt offerings must be a year-old, why would Samuel
offer one under a year-old???
When we look up the word “suckling” it could be actually saying that
Samuel chose the richest or fattest choice animal and offered it up and
the Almighty heard him. Here is the definition,
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
2461. chalab
blx chalab khaw-lawb’
from the same as 2459; milk (as the RICHNESS OF KINE):–+ cheese, milk,
sucking.
When we look up 2459 it says,
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
2459. cheleb
0D
blx cheleb kheh’-leb
or cheleb {khay’-leb}; from an unused root MEANING TO BE FAT; fat,
whether literally or figuratively; hence, THE RICHEST OR CHOICE PART:–X
best, fat(-ness), X finest, grease, marrow.
In other words Samuel chose the richest and choicest part of the flock
for an offering. This would harmonize with the many scriptures and would
not be contrary to the law.
In English we might say that it was a SUCCULENT/juicy offering. That’s
probably where we get this word from, SUCCULENT. It was a
succulent/juicy piece of meat
Another way we might harmonize Samuel is to literally say that he
offered a sucking Lamb of a year-old but was still sucking. But we must
remember the word lamb refers to a grazing animal, not a sucking one. We
must not boil a kid in its mother’s milk could be referring to an animal
that is still nursing, which is a delicacy to the world. At any rate
I have witnessed on many occasions, animals that was over a year-old
still sucking and I could already that this was the case but I believe
first understanding that I presented is the better.
The other Scripture is in Leviticus 22:27,
Le 22:27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then
it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and
THENCEFORTH it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the
LORD.
THIS IS NOT THE20ONLY REQUIREMENT for the sacrifice. The other
requirements are listed above and include being a year-old, without
blemish, etc. What if the animal has been seven days with its mother and
on the eighth day and forward it has a broken leg, shall it be accepted?
What if it has been seven days with its mother and has one eye, shall it
be accepted? What if it has been with its mother seven days and is not a
year-old, shall it be accept? I believe it has to meet ALL these
requirements, not just be seven days with its mother.
The above verse is not saying that just because it has been with its
mother for seven days it shall be accepted, regardless of anything else.
It is merely saying that this is a requirement in addition to all the
other requirements. At least this is how I see it for now. I am not
through studying the subject and am open to just one conclusive
Scripture where an animal was under a year-old when sacrificed.
Le 22:27 says, “When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth,
then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and
“thenceforth” it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the
YHWH.”
If I am going to say that an eight day old bullock or sheep is okay,
then I must say the THENCEFORTH which means TO THE DISTANCE, BEYOND,
FORWARD is also okay. In other words ANYTHING beyond eig
ht days is okay,
which would include an animal over 1-year-old. Here’s the definition of
“thenceforth”,
Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary
1973. hal@ah
halh hal@ah haw-leh-aw’
from the primitive form of the article (hal); TO THE DISTANCE, i.e. FAR
AWAY; also (of time) thus far:–back, BEYOND, (hence,-) FORWARD,
hitherto, thence,forth, yonder.
I believe this verse is saying that after seven days with its mother, it
is eligible for sacrifice as long as it meets the other requirements
which is understood from other Scripture including where it has to be a
year-old. When it says, “a son of a year “, it could possibly have the
understanding that all sacrifices must be at least a year old, according
to the above scripture but to be safe, a lamb over a year and under two
years is ideal. The Messiah was over two years old and He fulfilled
every aspect of the Passover lamb which included, not a bone to be
broken, a male, killed on the 14th, a lamb that didn’t complain, without
blemish, at least a year old etc.
A male of a year old Geneva Bible a yearling is an animal that is one
year old. World book dictionary
Last but not least, we have an eyewitness from a priest as to how things
were done during the time of the Messiah and his apostles. This man name
was Philo and he was actually a priest from the tribe of Levi and who
would know better
as to how old a lamb had to be to be accepted? Here’s
what he says in QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON EXODUS translated by Ralph
Marcus page 14, Book 1 #7 it says, “why does (Moses(command (them( to
take a “perfect male sheep of one year”? (It is to be( perfect in two
physical features, (namely( in the sensitive parts of the body and also
in the other organs. For an inperfect (sacrifice( is not worthy to be
brought to the altar of God. And (it is to be( male, first, because the
mail is more perfect than the female. Were for it is said by the
naturalist that the female is nothing else than an inperfect male. In
the second place, since it was commanded by the King of the land that
the males should die, he thought it right, in face of this and also for
the sake of Thanksgiving, to make a sacrifice of male animals. And
third, because of the King’s cruelty and wickedness in ordering the
proclamation against the Hebrew children, (he thought it right( to
nourish the female and to kill the male (sheep(. For since the (King’s(
Commandment had been annulled by the friendliness and humaneness and
power of God, it was proper to give thanks for the males unexpectedly
kept alive by (making( male sacrifices. And (the sheep is to be( a
year-old, since the males become perfect in a year. (The footnote on
perfect says, i.e. full- grown.( For having added the “perfec
t” as a
sort of prime consideration, he further adds those details in which it
is perfect, (namely( that it is more perfect than the female, while the
“year-old” shows the time sufficient for the perfecting of such animals.
That is the literal meaning. But as for the deeper meaning…….
Here are a list of translations that show the lamb has to be a year old.
